Growing up in today's world can get pretty pressured. And when the stress goes on, it's crucial to talk. If you want someone to chat with, or just listen, or maybe share some good honest advice – try one of these organisations. They know their stuff, and they won't judge.

  • Youthline offers support for young people facing a crisis
  • Kidsline offers information and phone counselling for 9-13 year olds
  • Whatsup – 0800 WHATSUP (0800 942 87 87) – is a phone counselling line for 5-18 year olds, available midday to midnight, seven days.
  • Urge/Whakamanawa is a youth health and life issue information service
  • Attitude tackles everyday youth issues
  • The Word answers questions about sex, life and relationships
  • Canteen supports young cancer patients, their families and friends
  • No Bully has information for young people and parents about bullying
  • Young Carers is for teens who are caring for someone who is ill or disabled
