Why are drugs an issue, anyway?

Many drugs can affect your mental and physical health, both in the short and long term. Drugs like cannabis may damage brain cells, which can lead to problems in learning, or long-term behaviour. Cannabis of the 21st century is generally much more potent than it was a generation ago, so the impacts can be more serious.

Addictive drugs can quickly 'take over' the user's life. It's not a buzz, it's not fun, it's certainly not cool. Life revolves around getting the drug. The user loses control to the drug. At worst, they risk dying from an overdose or associated illness.

The Urge website discusses the use of drugs and the importance of staying safe.
