How should I get ready?

• Agree how much you'll pay, depending on what time you return.
• Cash is usually preferred.
• Be sure your first aid kit is ready and handy.
• Leave out some food and drink.
• Write out any instructions.
• The first time, ask the babysitter to come early so they can meet your child and you can explain your instructions.
• You need to make sure your babysitter gets home safely afterwards, so stay sober if you will have to drive them; or make other arrangements such as calling a taxi.
