Rainbow Youth provides information for gay and lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth under the age of 27
Skylight has information on dealing with grief and counselling

Youthline offers information for parents on a range of teenage issues

How should I act and behave?

You should take seriously any talk of suicide or actions such as giving away special things.

Do whatever is needed to protect their safety – even against their wishes.

Do not keep a gun on the property (on farms this is a leading method of youth suicide so be very careful with firearm storage).

Share your feelings with friends, families, partners and other parents – ask for support.

Trust your judgment – if you think your teen needs professional help, then seek it.
