Congratulations – you're a Dad

If you're a father, your role is important — really important.

Children who have a strong relationship with their dad usually get on better with other children. They have fewer behavioural problems. They do better at school. They have higher self-esteem and are happier. For fathers, active parenthood is also a winner. Being a dad is special. It's fun — and funny. It's something to be really proud of too, as the guidance you provide will help them grow and achieve at all stages of their lives

It can be tough to balance all the pressures of work and home. Fatherhood isn't always easy so try and find out all you can. Talk to other fathers, try our recommended links — many of them have forums where you can share ideas and ask other fathers questions on parenting.
