Why do young people bully?
Bullying may help a child or teenager to get what they want, or gain the admiration of others. Bullies may enjoy a feeling of power.
Bullies often have a violent family background and may have been victims themselves. They may see their behaviour as 'pay-back' for unfair treatment.
Some just think it's fun. They may not understand how it hurts the victim. They may think some people deserve to be bullied. Or they may be copying others, from the people they know or from the movies.
Bullying can be different depending on the age of your child. Team-Up has two guides on what bullying is; one specific for children and the other specific for teenagers
