Are you just too busy?
Many New Zealand parents want better work-life balance, so they can spend more time as a whānau. More employers now offer options such as starting and finishing earlier in the day, and family-friendly workplaces.
When you're busy, every minute saved can make a big difference. Aim to be as quick as you can with the 'must do's' like cleaning and shopping. Do all you can to avoid unnecessary travel.
As a family aim to share the workload. Try to turn 'must do' time into whānau time, for example by doing chores together as family.
If you want to work more flexible hours you can discuss the options with your employer. You may be surprised at what is available.
