Submission on the development of a Carer's Strategy for New Zealand

The Families Commission welcomes the opportunity to present a submission on the development of a Carers’ Strategy for New Zealand. Our main interest in the Carers’ Strategy is as an advocate for the interests of New Zealand families.

In developing this submission, the Families Commission has drawn on work already undertaken within the Commission in which the voices of carers have been heard (in particular, two of the Commission’s online Couch polls – one focusing on disability and one on ageing and families, internal papers on the roles of older people within families and the needs of parents with disabilities, and our Out of School Services report).
